Celeste E. Laramie
Celeste Laramie brings years of experience as a public defender in Massachusetts to her personal injury and wrongful death casework at Gravel & Shea. As a public defender, she represented hundreds of indigent individuals charged with crimes. In that capacity, she worked collaboratively with the prosecution to reach fair and equitable results both for her clients and for the victims of crime. She understands how to work with victims and those who have been injured—through no fault of their own—in difficult and emotional situations.
Since joining Gravel & Shea, Celeste has worked with partners Jerry O’Neill and Bob Hemley on major personal injury cases, including for the sexual assault of children, and on substantial legal and medical malpractice cases.
Celeste volunteers with a local domestic violence organization, providing legal advice to victims in abusive relationships.
Celeste earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School and her B.S. in Psychology, cum laude, from Georgetown University.
Celeste is a member of the American Bar Association, the Vermont Bar Association, the Chittenden County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Vermont Association for Justice.
Celeste is a member of the bar of the Vermont Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
